Our Community
Our Lady of the Southern Cross, Manor Lakes
On behalf of all at OLSC, we extend to you a warm welcome to our community.
Strong partnerships between students, families, staff, Parish and the wider community make a difference and are nurtured at our school. Partnerships are forged by building trust, mutual respect and commitment in all aspects of the student's learning journey and promoting active participation in the life of the school.

Communication
We have many forms of communication throughout the school but limit it to use main platforms for ease of use; as a MACS school we use ICON Parent Portal as our central platform and to communicate directly with the whole school community we use Class Dojo which is also an app. This is used to share to the community, message the teacher, share learning, event dates and reminders and share our school newsletter.
Getting Involved
Working in Partnership with our Parents

Our school recognises the vital role that parents and families play in supporting children's learning and wellbeing. We actively foster strong partnerships through a welcoming and inclusive environment and aim for all families to feel valued and involved. Parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways, including:

-
Parent and Friends (P&F) Group: A dedicated space for families to connect, contribute ideas, and support school initiatives.
-
School Advisory Council: A collaborative forum where parents can engage in school planning and decision-making

-
Learning Space Support: Parents volunteer in the Learning Spaces, supporting literacy, numeracy, and other learning activities.
-
Excursions and Events: Parents assist with excursions, sports days, and whole-school celebrations, enriching student experiences.
-
General Volunteering: Opportunities to help at school events, fundraising activities, working bees, and more.
We are committed to creating a culture where all families feel respected, informed, and actively engaged in school life. Together, we build a vibrant and supportive learning community for every child.
